Providing the best level of care
Sometimes we get asked, "How can you test someone with dementia?" or told "Mum has no communication so won't be able to answer your questions" None of that matters, but it is where our years of experience proves invaluable.

Our aim is to make the person relaxed and comfortable and then to provide an eye test second to none.
When we visit someone at home we take into account how they are, and what they can, or maybe can’t do. Then we tailor everything to that person. How we speak, where we sit, how we move can all be important.
If you have a specific question about a loved one, give us a call. Making sure that our test and our visit is exactly right is the most important thing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Domiciliary eye care refers to eye care provided in the comfort of your own home, rather than in a traditional practice.
Domiciliary eye care is particularly beneficial for anyone who finds leaving the house difficult, perhaps elderly, or living with a disability that makes it challenging for them to visit a traditional practice.
Domiciliary eye care covers a range of related examinations, assessments, and treatments. These may include eye examinations, spectacle dispensing, evaluation and management of eye conditions such as cataracts or glaucoma, and the provision of support and advice.
Very simple, just give us a call or send us an email. You do not need to be referred.
Yes, the simplest way to check eligibility is to give us a call and we can chat through your own circumstances.
This is the same as for anyone visiting a practice. Under the age of 70, every two years, and over 70, every year. There will be exceptions and the optician who tests your eyes will advise.
If you are over 60 your eye test and our visit is funded by the NHS and so there is no charge to you.
During a domiciliary eye care visit, our optician will come to your home and perform a comprehensive assessment of your eyes. This may include vision testing, evaluation of eye health, and discussions about any concerns or symptoms you may be experiencing. They will also provide any necessary recommendations for further care, referral and spectacle correction for improved vision.
